Hajj (The Pilgrimage)
This 20th century masterpiece by one of the Muslim world's best known scholars is a wonderful spiritual preparation for those intending to perform the Pilgrimage. It differs from other books about the hajj in that it does not simply describe the rituals in detail, but rather it deals with the underlying philosophy behind them. It is important for those going for hajj to understand the concepts discussed in this book so it can be a much more meaningful experience. History will judge Shariati's Hajj as one of the most important documents of Islamic renaissance. |

Secrets of the Hajj
This work is a beautiful spiritual/irfani look at the Hajj - an aspect which most people neglect to study about in their preparations. Hajj - the central pillar of the Ummah's unity and Islam's strength - is obligatory for all Muslims who are able to afford it. Hajj is a hope for salvation in this global society of corruption and moral pollution. We know that the world in which we live in man's spiritual assets are being plundered. The Ka'ba is called Bait Allah, or "the House of God". But we know God needs no house and is not confined to any space. It is also called the first house of mankind. But before he built it, when he moved Lady Hajra and Prophet Ismail (peace be upon them) to the empty desert, he said, "O Our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House..." (14:37) |

Fatima Is Fatima
...... Shariati takes us to the heart of Shi'ism - Fatima, the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He describes the woman we could not see, the one we thought we knew but only after his guidance do we become aware of the fact that although we related each day directly to her spirit, she had been lost as a model for our daily lives. That is, we had an emotional attachment to her inner essence but we had removed her form. Shariati takes us to Fatima. He begins with the social customs of the Arabian Peninsula before her birth where according to custom, female children were buried alive at birth in order to save the family from the disgrace of having an unsuitable son-in-law. It was the revolutionary message of Islam which did away with this custom. God reveals through the Quran that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had been given the abundant river of Paradise and through that river, he shall have abundant progeny although according to Arab beliefs at that time, a man without a son is called 'cut-off'. How could it be? The father of a daughter will have abundant progeny? |
Fatima The Gracious
This is a biography of Fatima az Zahra a.s. daughter of Prophet of Islam (saww), upto the time of Prophets death. Because of the extremely sensitive period which followed Prophets death, and the everlasting effects which the events thereafter left upon the Islamic ideology and the structure of various Muslim sects and issues, the compiler deemed necessary to study various historical books, especially those which dealth with Lady Fatima Zahra's life, to come up with the most accurate information regarding the prime of the post period of the Prophets death. Moreover, various sermons which were delivered during those events, were intentionally included in the book especially Fatima's speeches so as to allow researchers to study the said historical events independently. In the end, we would like to mention that this book will be very useful not only to information seeking readers, but also to researchers and history students. |
A Glance at the Life of the Holy Prophet of Islam
The book starts with a look at the pre-Islamic world order. It deals with not only the events that occurred during the life of the Prophet, but also the philosophy and thinking behind the Prophet's actions. This is a great book to read for those interested in an introductory guide to the life of the Prophet. |
Nahjul Balagha (Peak of Eloquence)
This collection is the most reputed collection of Imam Ali a.s., which was compiled by Sayyid Radhi towards the 4th century of Hijra. This mode of collection and compilation is in itself enough to convince an unbiased person that Sayyid Radhi's own style of writing or power of expression has nothing to do with it, but that he has confined himself to collecting Amirul Mumineen's utterances from various places and putting them together. |
Hajj - The Islamic Pilgrimage
"And proclaim among men the pilgrimage; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, coming from every remote path, that they may witness advantages for them and mention the Name of Allah during stated days." Imamate (The Vicegerency of the Prophet)
How is the governmental system in Islam? What is Imamat and how will an Imam be Designated? How much does the famous story of shoddier on Alias (p.b.u.h) Imamett has credibility and what debater have been propounded on that subject? Do any authentic documents racist on whether the prophet ( s.a.w) designated the twelve Imam for the vicegerency? How does history judge event and the leadership of the vicegerency after the prophet? Finally, what events happened to cause Islam to be drawn from its original path? These are segments of the debater in the small, valuable and distinguished book. |
A Probe Into the History of Ashura
The tragedy of Karbala being an unparalleled event of the history of mankind, has invoked many questions regarding the very nature of the event and its affiliated factors in the raw minds of those with superficial study of Islamic history. Ayatullah Amini has very beautifully covered this great event with his masterly analytical approach to the events, Study of this book is a unavoidable for those who wish to have the correct understanding of this nerve shaking tragedy. |

The Holy Quran
The Quran (Qur'an or Koran) is the holy book of Islam, the word of Allah revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The term Quran means recitation; the word refers either to a section of the revelation or to the full collection of revelations. The major theme of the Quran is God's rapport with humankind. The principal doctrine in the Quran is that only one God and one true faith exist. All people will endure a final judgment, with the just being rewarded and the sinners being punished. |
The Life Of Muhammad The Prophet
This book was first published in 1971 as part of the Islamic Correspondence Course run by Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania. The idea behind writing this book was to satisfy the needs of our new generation - the youths and students, as well as recent converts, who are unable to study the scholastic books written by the Muslim scholars and whose only source of information seems to be the biased writings of orientalists presented as "objective" and "authentic" studies. |
The Message
This book not only presents an inspiring material but it is also based on authentic historical documents. One of its salient features is that the author has taken extreme care in narrating historical events and at the same time he has endeavoured as a research scholar, to approach them with an analytic mind also. Another interesting feature of this book is that it is absolutely free from heresies and concocted stories invented by vested interests. This book gives full details of the entire life of the Holy Prophet of Islam. |
Slavery - From Islamic and Christian Perspectives
This book has been republished to coincide with the occasion of the 3rd World Conference against Racism, Xenophobia, and other intolerance, held in Durban, South Africa 2001. Those willing to read the book online, visit the following website: http://www.al-islam.org/slavery/ The prevailing opinion is that slavery has been committed to the dustbins of history, yet the effect of this odious barbarism primarily against the African people manifest itself well into the 21st century. Since its formal abolition in 1863, it has assumed a more devious face, in the form of "refurbished" slavery. Globalisation through the domination of the forces of production by Multi National cartels is a new form of slavery. Allamah Rizvi re-visits this contentious issue of the slave trade and defines it within its rightful context… |

Secrets of the Hajj
This work is a beautiful spiritual/irfani look at the Hajj - an aspect which most people neglect to study about in their preparations. While the Fiqh aspect of this act of worship is important, more so, the reason and philosophy must also be known - and this work elucidates upon these points drawing from the Qur'an and Ahaadith. |
The Unschooled Prophet
One of the highlights in the life of the great Prophet Muhammad (SA) is the fact that he was untrained and unschooled (ie, he did not attend any school). He had not been trained by any teacher and neither he had acquainted himself with any written work. |
Woman And Her Rights
The question of woman and her status in present day world had always been a subject of differed opinions in different communities. Her position in the past and in the present day world and the most important role she has to play in the male domination world in the perspective of Islamic tannets, are the subjects so beautifully covered by Ayatullah Mutahhari. |
Imamate and Leadership
IMAMATE AND LEADERSUIP: is one of the best books on the subject proving with convincing evidences from authentic Sunni sources the immediate successorship of Imam 'Ali b.Abu Talib and the question of Imamate as a prerogative bestowed by God upon a chosen person, from the family of the Prophet, who before his death and with the guidance of God, transfers the Imamate to another by an explicit designation (nass). |
Completion of Islam - Ghadeer - 40 Ahadith
"O' Messenger! Convey that which has been revealed to you from your Lord and if you do not do so, it is as if you have not conveyed His message at all, and Allah will protect you from the people..." (Suratul Maidah (5), Verse 67) "I am leaving behind two weighty things to you as a trust - one of them is the Book of Allah, and the other is my family, the Ahlul Bayt. These two shall never separate from one another. O' people! Do not attempt to supersede the Quran and my family, and do not be negligent in your actions towards these two, because if you do so, you shall be destroyed." |
Ghadeer-e-Khum - Where The Religion Was Brought To Perfection

In order to avail the opportunity of accompanying the Prophet people from every corner of Arabia thronged in multitude.

The Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HF) at Ghadir Khum
Seventy days before his demise, when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HF) was returning to Medina after his last pilgrimage to Mecca, he reached the pond of Khum (Ghadir Khum) near Juhfa. By the order of Allah, the Prophet (PBUH&HF) stopped at the pond of Khum, gathered the crowd of pilgrims, and delivered his last universal speech. "...Certainly, I just conveyed what I have been ordered to convey as an argument against everyone, be him present or absent, a direct witness or not, and already born or not yet born. Hence, everyone who is present should convey (this sermon) to those who are absent, every parent should convey it to his/her children, (and they should continue to do so) until the Day of Judgement. . ." |

Justice and the Theory of Imam Mahdi ('af)
Truth, justice, virtue, good life and similar terms express the firm and continuous ambition of human beings in history. Islam as a Divine religion, constructing its principles and values upon Godly revelation, as well as human reason, gives a coherent picture of the good, justice, virtue, perfection, progress, and the like. |

He had just been born. The aroma of his existence fragranced everywhere. He had a face, as soft as dew on spring flowers. Celestial beings and angels gave each other glad tidings of his birth. In his due, the prophet said, "he is the ninth generation of Imam Husain (a.s.) and is my namesake. His name is Mahdi (a.s.) and I give you glad tidings of his coming". . . |
Think of Nice Things about People
A teacher asked his students to list the names of the other students in the room. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. Remember, you reap what you sow, what you put into the lives of others comes back into your own. . . |
The Centrality of the Prophet Muhammad(s) to Islamic Spirituality
Many people see Islam as simply a set of beliefs and ritual observances. Ignorance of Islam feeds stereotypes of the religion as legalistic and literalist without any spiritual subtlety and makes the common man susceptible to negative propaganda against it. This negative attitude extends to the Prophet Muhammad(s) as well who is now increasingly perceived in the most damning ways imaginable. |
The hierarchy of knowledge & the Prophet's Teachings
Islam considers education and edification to be important tasks of the final Prophet. Like other prophets, the Prophet of Islam was sent forth to develop man's innate nature (fitrah) which is necessary to attain perfection and salvation. Proceeding from this foundation, any teacher of Islam should define an approach in which all the educational activities concur with. . . |

Karbala', an Enduring Paradigm of Islamic Revivalism
The martyrdom of Imam Husayn ibn 'Ali ('a) and his companions in Karbala' proved to be the beginning of the downfall of the Banu Umayyah dynasty which had usurped the Islamic khilafah by deceit, repression, and corruption of the Muslim community. The episode of Karbala' became the everlasting stage on which, more than anything else, the great spirit of an Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt was put for eternal display. |
Maqtal al-Husayn
It was in Karbala' that the event made perpetual by history took place; the event which terminated the life of the great Imam, the grandson of the Holy Prophet (S) and the lord of the martyrs, Abu 'Abdillah al-Husayn (as). This tragic event that took place in 61 H, similar to the narrations of the battles in the early period of Islam, was passed from mouth to mouth from those who had either witnessed the battle itself, or the events before or after it. |
